What is Self Storage?
Self storage is a convenient & flexible way to store your belongings, including furniture, business stock, garden tools etc in a private locked room for as long as you choose. You can store almost anything providing it is legal, non perishable, non combustible and you have the owners permission.
There are many types of storage company so be very careful to select the one that is right for your needs. Some storage companies will load your items into large flimsy packing boxes and stack them high up in a cold warehouse where you can’t get regular access to it without a period of advance notice and then they often charge you a handling fee for the inconvenience. Your box or boxes will of course be regularly moved to uncover other peoples boxes that may be stacked below or behind yours, so the chance of the contents getting damaged is quite high. Other storage companies use repainted metal shipping containers that have come to the end of their useful life and have ceased to be water tight. This type of storage can be very cheap, but is it worth the risk?. You will of course be required to visit your storage unit a number of times every week so that it can be opened to minimise the damp and condensation that builds up, especially during cold weather. Watch out for the small print in a contract for this type of storage for it will be cleverly worded to illiminate any responsibilty on behalf of the company for your contents getting wet or damaged if you don’t follow the rules very closely.
Private room self storage is far safer. By renting a private lockable room within a clean, well ventilated and heated building you can be confident that you will not only get uninterrupted access to your belongings when you want it but you won’t need to waste time visiting your storage area when you are working away, on holiday or it just isn’t convenient. The goods inside will also not get damaged by being regulary moved or get wet during the time they are in store. Store4sure have over 100 private storage rooms of different sizes to cater for most storage needs and there is always someone on hand to make sure the building is kept clean and to give advice if necessary. There is also plenty of free parking on tarmac roads and not mud like in most container yards. 24 hour CCTV recording and monitoring is in operation both inside and out of the buildings and perimeter fences.
Self storage is a great way to store things that you don’t want to get rid of but take up needed space, however, be careful not to store them where they won’t be any good or are damaged when you next go to use them.
