Terms & Conditions

 
All stored items should be boxed and sealed if at all possible. A supply of various sized boxes are available at nominal cost from the office.

We do not allow the storage of:
Liquids including paints, parafin etc.
Chemicals, combustible or highly inflammable and explosive items.
Food items.
Medical supplies, drugs or strong smelling perfumes and cosmetics.
Mattresses or bedding ( unless covered by a sealed non allergic mattress cover).
Pets or pet related items
Machinery containing oil or water unless fully drained and sealed.
Cars over 5 meters in length or Caravans.

Delivery/Collection must be during office hours only. Other convenient times may be arranged with the office at extra cost. Please note: We do not have staff on hand to off load customers goods. A sack barrow or cage trolley is available for customers use whilst on the premises. Euro pallets are also available At certain busy times it may be necessary to arrange a booking in or collection time. Please check with the office.
No removal of stored goods will be permitted at any time unless your security details are first checked with the office. This is to avoid the unauthorised removal of customers belongings without their permission. Items must at all times be stacked safely and tidily. Any items that we consider unsafe will be moved or re-stacked and the charge for so doing added to the final account (calculated @ £25 per hour plus VAT). Any extra space taken as a result of re-stacking will also be charged at the appropriate rate. Monitored CCTV cameras with picture and audio recording facility are in operation 24hours per day both in the buildings and on the estate. All vehicle registrations are recorded on camera and will be passed on to the police if it is considered our terms of operation are not being adhered to or the occupants are acting suspiciously. Open storage in reserved bays is preferred, however a secure lockable area can be made available if desired. Customers can supply their own padlocks. It is requested that a key be left with the security office in case of fire or security checks but this is not compulsory. Alternatively we can supply a lock and a returnable deposit for £5 will be charged. For safety reasons, No children under 12 years of age will be allowed within the storage area. Any one found to be in breach of our terms and conditions will be asked to remove their goods immediately. We reserve the right to remove any items that contravene our safety rules and to charge the appropriate cost of so doing. It is a company policy always to prosecute any offenders or persistent non payers.

Our premises are fitted with sensitive fire and smoke sensors. These require a free flow of air at ceiling height to allow them to work efficiently. We therefore request our customers not to stack items in closed storage rooms higher than 8'0” in height. Any customers whose storage rooms are found to be in breach of this term will be requested to re-stack them. Failure to comply within 24 hours of notification will result in our staff carrying this out and the cost for so doing charged to your account. (charged @ £25 per hour + vat).
 
Charges.
 
Storage charges are generally calculated on a floor area footprint basis however secure lockable rooms are charged depending upon the size of room required. Items can be stored to a maximum height of 2.4mtrs (8'0”) if it is safe to do so,. To keep our charges competitive we only charge for the space actually used. As a result we reserve the right to use our racking system to store other items above any stored customers items who do not use the full height space available and no discount will be given for so doing. Smaller high value items must be registered with the office for recording in case of break ins or security breaches. Any one not reporting valuable items to the office will not be able to claim in the event of theft or damage. An additional insurance is available at reasonable cost for insuring high value items. When booking space in our warehouse, an estimate of how long you require the space will be requested. Payment for the first months storage charge will be required at the start of the period unless a shorter period is requested. Invoices will be rendered 4 weekly thereafter. Part weeks will be charged as full weeks. Charges are calculated depending upon the area used and the length of time stored. Special rates may be negotiated for regular or long term users of our facility. If a discounted rate has been booked and invoiced at the start of the period of storage but you cancel your contract and remove your goods before the 4 week period expires, you will be required to pay two weeks rental or give two full weeks notice of your intended removal of your goods. An extra 2 weeks rental will be charged at completion of your rental if notice is not given to allow us the opportunity to re-let your storage room. Payment for invoices must be made within seven days of receipt. If after a reasonable time any invoices are still unpaid, items stored may be impounded or disposed of to offset any long outstanding arrears. All outstanding charges must be settled before final removal of stored items. Interest is charged for late payments at 3% above Barclays Bank PLC base lending rate.
 
Transport.
 
Arrangements can be made to deliver and collect certain goods from private homes and business premises. Please check rates with the office. No deliveries will be allowed to remote sites, car parks or un-recognised addresses. Regular trips are made to Portugal and Spain. Anyone wishing to transport items from an overseas address should consult the office for a quotation.
